The Veteran Village Movement will require more than one Founder and more than one kind of experience.
If you understand the mission and believe your knowledge, judgment, practical ability, relationships, or resources may help move it forward, we would like to hear from you.
Right now, our principal priority is bringing the right people to the table.
The Present Priority
Help Build the Veteran Village Think Tank
The Veteran Village Think Tank is intended to bring together Veterans, professionals, subject-matter experts, and experienced leaders who can help examine, challenge, strengthen, and advance the Veteran Village model.
It is not being assembled merely to endorse what has already been written.
The Founder has developed the underlying philosophy, the Veteran Village concept, the planned Claude Firth Veteran Village prototype, substantial planning documentation, financial planning, supporting technical concepts, and an overall framework for the Movement.
The work now requires knowledgeable people willing to test assumptions, identify weaknesses, determine what requires professional validation, and help translate planning concepts into practical and executable approaches.
The concept has been developed.
Now we are building the table.
What the Think Tank Will Do
Test the Work. Strengthen the Model. Help Carry It Forward.
The Think Tank is intended to help the Veteran Village Movement:
- Examine the Founder-developed concept with experience and professional judgment
- Challenge assumptions constructively
- Identify unanswered questions, risks, and weak areas
- Determine where legal, financial, clinical, engineering, construction, operational, or other professional validation is required
- Strengthen the organizational and professional foundations of the Movement
- Help translate planning concepts into responsible courses of action
- Connect the Movement with qualified people, organizations, institutions, and resources
- Help advance Claude Firth Veteran Village toward responsible implementation
Good ideas become credible institutions when knowledgeable people are willing to test them, improve them, and help do the difficult work required to make them real.
Expertise Needed Around the Table
A Multidisciplinary Mission Requires Multidisciplinary Knowledge.
No single profession can develop every part of a Veteran Village.
The Movement is interested in hearing from people with relevant experience in areas such as:
Organization, Governance, and Resources
Nonprofit formation and governance, law, CPA and accounting practice, finance, financial controls, philanthropy, grants, organizational leadership, risk, communications, and community development.
Land, Construction, and Infrastructure
Owner-side development leadership, land development, predevelopment, architecture, engineering, construction, skilled trades, project management, estimating, permitting, procurement, infrastructure, energy and microgrid systems, water, and wastewater.
Enterprise, Agriculture, and Productive Work
Business development, entrepreneurship, manufacturing, Veteran-owned businesses, agriculture, greenhouse systems, food service, workforce training, business mentoring, and sustainable Village enterprises.

If your field is not listed but you believe your experience can contribute meaningfully to developing the Veteran Village model, we welcome the conversation.
Participation Begins With a Conversation
Bring What You Know.
Contacting the Veteran Village Movement does not automatically result in Think Tank membership or appointment to a formal role.
It begins a conversation.
A person may initially help by reviewing a specialized issue, sharing professional knowledge, identifying a risk, offering mentorship, recommending another expert, or helping connect the Movement with an appropriate organization or resource.
You may be the person whose expertise is needed.
Or you may know the person who should be at the table.
Either can move the work forward.
Other Ways to Get Involved
The Think Tank Is the Present Priority. Other Pathways Remain Open.
Not every useful relationship will involve formal Think Tank participation.
The Movement also welcomes conversations with:
- Veterans and Veteran leaders who want to help shape or support the mission
- Construction and development professionals interested in an early development-stage relationship
- Philanthropists, foundations, corporate Veteran initiatives, and strategic resource partners who want to understand the Movement and prototype
- Far West Texas residents, businesses, institutions, and community leaders with relevant regional knowledge or relationships
- Media professionals, podcast hosts, speakers, and communicators interested in helping tell the story responsibly
- People capable of making introductions, opening doors, identifying resources, or connecting the Movement with the right individual or organization
Claude Firth Veteran Village is rooted in Far West Texas near Fort Davis, but the broader Veteran Village Movement welcomes people from across Texas and the United States.
The immediate objective is not to create commitments before the right conversations occur.
It is to begin the right conversations with the right people.
Community Invitation
Neighbors Take Care of Neighbors.
The Veteran Village Movement itself will be built through people willing to contribute knowledge, judgment, relationships, leadership, practical ability, resources, and service.
Helping does not always begin with a formal title or a large commitment.
Sometimes it begins by pulling up a chair, asking the right question, or introducing us to someone who needs to be at the table.

Claude Firth Veteran Village is still in development. It is not yet operational and is not currently accepting residents or applications for residency.
The Veteran Village Movement does not presently provide emergency housing, clinical treatment, or crisis-response services, and this contact form is not monitored as an emergency service.
You may use the form to request future public information about the Village, but submitting it is not an application for admission and cannot guarantee assistance.
